WHO IS BEHIND THIS ORGANIZATION?

Vertical Limit is an organization floated by Prof. Srinivas Govindrajan, who has been teaching in the B-School space for close to 30 years. Over these 30 years, he has worked with XIM, Bhubaneswar for 16 years and held leadership positions at KIIT-SOM, Bhubaneswar (2 years) and Praxis Business School (11 years).

In addition to the above B-Schools, the other B Schools where he has taught at least one full course to PGDM students are (and these are in Alphabetic Order, not order of preference or ranking – because he enjoyed teaching at all these places!): GLIM-Chennai, IIM-Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM-Raipur, IIM-Shillong, IIM-Udaipur and XLRI-Jamshedpur.

WHAT IS THE ORGANIZATION TRYING TO ACHIEVE?

Prof. Govindrajan has been deeply involved with Campus Placements throughout his career – as this is the best way of getting Industry Feedback.

The feedback of late is: there is a rapid transition of Industry’s requirements to skilled resources as opposed to generalists. Teaching skills required here call for a different kind of pedagogy and curriculum – and this is where education is headed.

Vertical Limit is an Institution which imparts skills to a wide cross section of students. This can range from MBAs/PGDMs from Top 30 B-Schools who did not get a career of their choice and want to reskill to 2 nd or 3 rd Year Engineering students who want jobs better than what they get from Campus – and want to be ready for it.

This is also being planned across a wide spectrum of Verticals (and hence the name Vertical Limit!). The Industry refrain of “we have plenty of requirements for manpower, but are unable to find the candidates with the desired skill set” is something which this company wishes to tackle.
